The Directorate for Social Change & Mental Health Services (DSCMHS) is the national authority
for mental health in Papua New Guinea, operating under the Mental Health Act 2015. We are dedicated to providing
accessible, compassionate care and fostering a mentally healthy nation.
Who We Are
DSCMHS oversees the development and implementation of mental health services across PNG. From clinical care at facilities like Laloki Hospital to community outreach and policy guidance (Mental Health Policy, National Alcohol Policy), we are committed to our Corporate Plan 2021-2026.Our goal is a future where mental health is understood, supported, and free from stigma.
